Recent Happenings

Fall is here and the semester is in full-swing. Between making presentations, writing proposals, taking (or giving) exams, problem sets, and lab assignments, Derrick and I are busy bodies. It's a good thing I relieve stress in the kitchen, otherwise we'd never have anything to eat!

A new HyVee was built just down the street from us and we went yesterday to check out the grand opening. We found some great sales and are thrilled to have a nice grocery store so close to home! The store was clean and had fantastic samples, especially around the meat counter. Tonight we will have a pork loin roast and Mediterranean risotto.

Other than graduate school and kitchen adventures, this little monster had been occupying the rest of our time. :)

She looks so calm in pictures, too...

She looks so BIG in that picture! At first glance I thought she was a lab (then I noticed the length of her legs, but still!) I am excited to meet her! :)

Congrats on getting CiCi! She is so lovely.

Marty even mentioned that she did look like a very calm dog in that picture. Jada noticed that your dog and ours have the same toy. ;^)

Post more pictures!!

My grand-dog (which fills in temporarily for hopefully-soon-to-come grandchildren) is a black lab. They are the nicest dogs and yes, you have to get through that puppy stage. I might add that my hairstylist had a lab pup years ago who decided there was something in their mattress and dug THROUGH the comforter, sheets AND mattress to find...nothing. It basically made a doughnut of their bed! Lots of chew toys and Kongs with treats inside are great diversions...and long walks, too!
